Versoix has been in the portfolio of every local photographer, so I had to give it a try myself as well;-) I was a bit late and arrived on the seen a week later after the initial formation, and had to fight all other people and photographers on the spot;-)
It was really a good luck, and all you needed is the ice, and few sunny moments (which were sparse).
I had no time to come back at sunrise/sunset, explore more around the port and woods on the shore...
Local people say this happens every 3 years or so, so let's wait a bit again, the ice might be melting this week;)
So, careful when parking at the Lake Geneva and make sure you have adequate insurance coverage for your audi;-)
